Manitoba Lotteries is proud to add Charitable Poker Tournaments to our long list of community support programs. Our new Charitable Poker Tournament Program furthers our commitment to the community, while allowing a group to raise funds in a fresh and fun way. They can completely customize a tournament and add the little touches that make an event memorable.
CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
The applicant organization must:
Have a Canada Revenue Agency registered charity number or non-profit designation.
Be based in the Province of Manitoba or have a Manitoba Division.
Raise funds that will primarily benefit Manitobans.
Maximize developmental/learning and community involvement opportunities.
Provide to urban, rural and northern regions of the province.
Provide recognition to Manitoba Lotteries for support.
Request a maximum of two poker tournaments per twelve (12) month cycle.
INELEGIBILITY CRITERIA
Ineligible applications are those for:
Research, capital funding/projects or endowment campaigns/projects (consideration may be made for events where the proceeds support those listed).
Core funding and/or ongoing operational costs.
National fundraising campaigns (consideration may be given to events hosted in Manitoba).
Political parties, initiatives or candidates.
Charitable donations.
Religiously affiliated organizations or initiatives.
Military affiliated organizations or initiatives.
Organizations with a controversial mission.
Initiatives which are national or international in scope whereby Manitoba is not the host.
For-profit organizations.
Events and/or activities that primarily have youth and minors in attendance and/or are marketed to this demographic.
Events or organizations of a narrow scope (Manitoba Lotteries does not generally support these initiatives).
Individual or commercial pursuits (eg. trips, wedding socials).
