GOLF PROGRAM

Golf tournaments are a popular fundraiser for many charitable organizations in Manitoba.

As part of its Community Support program, Manitoba Lotteries is proud to support Manitoba communities and organizations through sponsorship of golf tournaments.

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION

The applicant organization must:

  • Be based in the Province of Manitoba or have a Manitoba Division.
  • Raise funds that will primarily benefit Manitobans.
  • Reach a specific targeted audience identified by a professional association, historical significance and a relationship complementary to Manitoba Lotteries' goals and activities.
  • Provide to urban, rural and northern regions of the province.
  • Be event and activity driven.
  • Demonstrate a reasonable rate of return.
  • Have a Manitoba Lotteries business relevance.
  • Offer a strategic opportunity to support key business objectives or deliver a corporate message to key audiences. Conferences and seminars may be considered.
  • Provide recognition to Manitoba Lotteries for support.

INELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Ineligible applications are those for:

  • Research, capital funding/projects or endowment campaigns/projects (consideration may be made for events where the proceeds support those listed).
  • Core funding and/or ongoing operational costs.
  • National fundraising campaigns (consideration may be given to events hosted in Manitoba).
  • Political parties, initiatives or candidates.
  • Charitable donations.
  • Religiously affiliated organizations or initiatives.
  • Military affiliated organizations or initiatives.
  • Organizations with a controversial mission.
  • Initiatives which are national or international in scope whereby Manitoba is not the host.
  • Community club sports teams.
  • Events and/or activities that primarily have youth and minors in attendance and/or are marketed to this demographic.
  • Events or organizations of a narrow scope (Manitoba Lotteries does not generally support these initiatives).
  • Individual or commercial pursuits (e.g. trips, wedding socials).
  • Conferences, conventions, seminars or workshops.
  • Professional or technical associations.

Please note: Sponsorship packages and event materials may be included as attachments as part of your online application. You will be prompted to upload attachments upon completing the online questionnaire. Please provide as much information as possible, to help in determining our support.

All submissions should be submitted by November 1st prior to the next golf season. Although requests are considered on an ongoing basis, we request all organizations interested in partnering with us to submit only one proposal per year.

Dependent on the level of funding, some golf sponsorships will require a Letter of Agreement. Requests for support are reviewed each November for the following golf season. These requests are approved each January for that fiscal year. We advise each group, prior to April, if request is approved or declined.
